GPPD K9 COMPETITION
The Grand Prairie Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is proud to announce that the organization was the presenting sponsor for the Grand Prairie Police Department's first K9 competition. The competition hosted 11 teams from around the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Awards were presented to the winning team in each competition category.

K9 Bullet and his partner Officer Lance Montee were on-hand at the GPCPAAA General Membership meeting on September 11, 2018, to present information on the competition and make a formal request for assistance to finance the event. A motion was made to assist with funding for the competition. The motion passed unanimously! Before leaving, K9 Bullet and his partner was presented a check for $3,000. Volunteers from different GPPD Volunteer programs were excited to support our K9 unit and were on-hand to assist on the day of the event.
Competitions such as this allows Officers to share training techniques, best practices and keep their K9 partners ready for when duty calls. The GPCPAAA is anxiously awaiting the 2nd Annual Grand Prairie Police Department K9 Competition!
